Inside Pinar del Río there are neighborhoods, and San Luis is the address every wrapper wants. This small district is famed for shade-grown leaf of exceptional fineness — supple, uniform, silky — the outer garment of some of the greatest Habanos ever rolled. The Don calls San Luis the tailor’s quarter: everything that leaves here is dressed impeccably.
Flavor characteristics are commonly associated tendencies. Final flavor depends on blend, fermentation, aging, and construction.
Her character is elegance itself: cedar and cream leading, fine nuts and sweet spice behind, gentle earth for footing, and a floral note drifting over the top. She is felt as much as tasted — smoothness that tells you the wrapper was grown, not manufactured.
