If Cuban tobacco has a holy land, it is Vuelta Abajo. This corner of Pinar del Río, in the island’s far west, is the only region on earth that reliably produces every component of a premium Habano — wrapper, binder, and filler — from the same blessed dirt. The Don does not use the word terroir lightly, but here he bows to it.
